There's something magical about group travel — the shared laughter, inside jokes, unplanned detours, and those "remember when…" stories that last a lifetime. That's exactly what our 5-day getaway to Wayanad and Coorg turned out to be — a perfect blend of adventure, peace, and bonding with friends in Kerala's lush green hills.

Day 1: From Kozhikode to Wayanad – Into the Hills We Go

Our trip kicked off at Kozhikode Railway Station, where we met our smiling driver and hopped into our private cab, backpacks full and spirits high. The drive to Wayanad took about 3 hours, winding through greenery and sleepy villages. We checked into a cozy resort tucked near Banasura Lake and spent the rest of the day just chilling — sipping chai, watching the mist roll in, and clicking dozens of group selfies. That night, under the stars, we sat around talking and planning the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Wayanad Sightseeing – Caves, Waterfalls & Forest Trails

After a solid breakfast, we were off for a full day of exploring Wayanad. First stop: Banasura Sagar Dam — the second-largest earthen dam in Asia. The views were vast, the breeze refreshing, and it was a great place to just walk and soak in the serenity. Next up, we trekked to the Edakkal Caves, where prehistoric carvings met panoramic hilltop views — totally worth the climb!

We then headed to 900 Kandi, an offbeat forest escape that felt like stepping into a movie scene — suspension bridges, deep woods, and jeep trails that got the adrenaline going. Our final stop was the beautiful Soochipara Falls, where the roaring cascade and rocky terrain gave us major nature-core vibes. By nightfall, we were back at the resort, tired but exhilarated, recounting the day over late-night snacks.

Wayanad isn't just a destination; it's a collection of moments waiting to be discovered with friends who turn simple experiences into lifelong memories.

Day 3: Off to Coorg – A Road Trip, A Waterfall, and Endless Laughs

We said goodbye to Wayanad and hit the road to Coorg, with a quick en route stop at Iruppu Falls. Surrounded by dense forest and flowing fresh, it was the perfect break — some dipped their feet, others took slow walks, but everyone took photos.

As we drove into Coorg, the air got colder and crisper. We reached our resort by afternoon, settled in, and spent the evening wandering around Madikeri town. The vibe was laid-back, and the coffee was rich and strong — just what we needed.

Day 4: Coorg Exploration – Coffee Trails, Misty Views & Waterfalls

Day 4 was packed with some of Coorg's best experiences. We started with Abbey Falls, surrounded by spice plantations and echoing with the sound of falling water. Then came Raja's Seat, a viewpoint with panoramic valley views that left everyone clicking away. Next, we explored Madikeri Fort, an underrated gem with colonial vibes and stories in its walls.

After lunch, we made a short stop at Honnamana Kere Lake — calm, spiritual, and peaceful. Some of us chose to visit Dubare Elephant Camp, where watching the elephants bathe and interact was a pure joy.

The day ended with a bonfire back at the resort — music, games, and one of those deep conversations only friends can have under a starry sky.

Day 5: Farewell from Kannur – Bags Packed, Hearts Full

On the last morning, we packed up with heavy hearts. After breakfast, we drove to Kannur Railway Station — the 3-hour ride filled with sleepy eyes, shared playlists, and planning our next trip already. We arrived, hugged goodbye, and promised to do it all again.

The hills of Kerala don't just show you places; they create spaces where friendships deepen, stories unfold, and memories become the souvenirs you carry forever.
